Since 1978, Saymin Tekstil has grown from a single shuttle loom in Istanbul into a vertically integrated mill weaving premium fabrics for brands in 35 countries.

Founder & Master Weaver
Sabri Karataş learned to weave as a teenager in his uncle’s workshop in Istanbul — a city that has been at the heart of the textile trade for centuries. In 1978, with a single second-hand shuttle loom, he started weaving herringbone for local tailors.
Nearly five decades later he still walks the weaving floor every morning, running his hand over the first roll of the day. His children now lead daily operations, carrying the same obsession with quality into a second generation.

- 1978
One loom, one weaver
Sabri Karataş sets up a single shuttle loom in a rented workshop in Istanbul, weaving herringbone for local tailors.
- 1986
The first mill
Demand grows by word of mouth. The family opens its first 24-loom weaving hall.
- 1997
Going international
First export shipments to Italy and Germany mark the start of our European partnerships.
- 2008
Dye house & finishing
An in-house dye and finishing plant makes Saymin Tekstil fully vertically integrated.
- 2016
Cleaner energy
Solar panels now cover 40% of our energy use.

Second generation
120+ looms, 35 export countries — and the founder still walks the weaving floor every morning.

From our headquarters in Osmanbey, Istanbul’s textile district, we oversee weaving, knitting, dyeing, finishing and a fully equipped textile lab.

Yarn selection
We choose fibres carefully and test every yarn lot for strength, evenness and twist.

Weaving & knitting
120+ air-jet, rapier, shuttle and circular looms turn yarn into greige fabric.
- 03
Dyeing
Piece, yarn and rope dyeing in our low-impact dye house with water recycling.
- 04
Finishing
Washing, brushing, sanforizing and coating define the final hand and performance.
- 05
Inspection
Every roll is inspected on a 4-point system and lab-tested before it leaves the mill.
